Lodge Checklist

44 wooded acres along Wading River
The main camp includes Fuller Lodge, two tent units and an Adirondack (3-sided shelter) unit.  The lodge is served by town water and a septic system.  Across the river, there is another tent unit, a playing field and an Adventure Trail.

 
 


Fuller Lodge - available for  troop camping September - mid June.  Includes a heated lodge, kitchen, bathrooms, and a fireplace.  Accommodates up to 30 people.  No separate sleeping spaces.  Kitchen includes residential size stove, refrigerator, sink, hot water and some cooking utensils.  Troops should bring most cooking and eating equipment.

Tent and Adirondack Units - each tent unit contains 4 platform tents.  Adirondack unit includes 3 three-sided shelter.   These are available for service unit and troop camping September - October and late April - mid June.  Each tent and shelter can sleep 8 persons. Tent and adirondack units have access to a central bathroom with toilets and running water.  Each unit has a kitchen shelter (roofed structure with open sides) and a fireplace. Refrigeration is available at Fuller Lodge.

Pool, waterfront, nature trail, adventure trail – an inground pool was built at Camp Edith Read in 2006.  It is open during the summer months.  The nature trail provides wonderful venues for nature study.  The adventure trail has low challenge elements for younger girls.
