program Five Senses  ·  Program in a Bag

description Girls will explore their five senses using fun, creative activities. After connecting hearing, seeing, tasting, feeling and smelling with body parts, girls will listen to mystery sounds, play Name That Sound and later try to determine the location of voices. Next they will reach into a mystery bag and determine the contents using only the sense of touch. Other fun “tasks” include practicing Braille letters, identifying scents, creating smelly art work with scented soap as crayons and viewing optical illusions and light reflections. The culminating activity includes the book, “My Five Senses” by Aliki.
reserve Your troop can borrow this packaged program, which contains everything needed to run it during your meetings, including instructions, activities, sample projects, shopping lists for materials and explanations of the purpose and results you should expect. The leadership team conducts the program at their own pace, so it is perfectly suited to the level and abilities of the girls. The program is available on loan, free of charge, from the Service Center. If you notify us ahead of time, we can deliver to your next Service Unit meeting.  To reserve, submit an online request form, or email Lola Furtado.
